ML.ai CodeFiles & Editor
Attachments
What file types you can attach to a message, and the limits ML.ai enforces before sending content to the model.
You can attach files directly to a message so the model can see their content without you pasting it inline. ML.ai enforces type and size limits on attachments before anything is sent to the model.
Supported types
| Category | Formats |
|---|---|
| Images | PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP |
| Text and code | TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Go, Rust, Java, C/C++, Markdown, JSON, YAML, TOML, XML, HTML, CSS, SQL, shell, and other common source/config formats |
Unsupported binary files are rejected with a specific error message. They're never silently dropped without explanation.
Limits
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Max file size | 20 MB |
| Text sent to the model | Bounded to 50 KB, 2,000 lines, and 2,000 characters per line |
When a text attachment exceeds these bounds, the truncation is clearly marked in what's sent, so the model knows it's looking at a partial file, rather than silently reasoning over an incomplete one as if it were the whole thing.
